The Dr. Philip W. Ogilvie Award
 
Phil Ogilvie served as AOI President from 1997 to 1999.  He was the retired Archivist of the District of Columbia, former Director of the Portland, Oregon zoo, author of numerous articles and books and professor of Tourism Studies at the George Washington University.

Each year, the Association of the Oldest Inhabitants of the District of Columbia recognizes the highest academic achievement of a graduate student in George Washington University's Accelerated Masters of Tourism Administraiton program.
 
The $500 award is made possible by the directed donations of many AOI members who remember with great fondness the achievements of Dr. Philip W. Ogilvie.
